Stage 3 Team Time Trial
General Information
This is the third and final stage of the First Annual 2010 Memphis Invitational Club Championship Powered by Peddler Bike Shop. A three event race series featuring a Criterium, Road Race and Time Trial for Category 4 and 5 Men and Category 2, 3 and 4 Women cyclists open to both cycling club members and unattached riders.

This event will provide entrants the opportunity to participate in a Four Man Team Time Trial competition or an Individual Time Trial competition. If you assemble a Four Person Team you will be entered in and start as a team. If you do not assemble a four person team, you will start as an individual participating in the Individual Time Trial competition. Note: For purposes of accumulating points for the Memphis Invitational Club Championship points series, each participating club must enter four registrants to start as a team in the Team Time Trial competition.
It is a great course, an approximate 22 mile out and back loop that travels very fast up North Watkins towards Shelby Forest , winds through roads along the Bluffs of the Mississippi River and loops back ending with a very fast finish down North Watkins. See Course Directions below.
Four Man Team Time Trial Teams will start at 3 minute intervals beginning at 8:00 AM The starting order will be posted at www.cirquevelosmemphis.com on Wednesday, August 18. Those participating in the Individual Time Trial will be started at 30 second intervals in the order signed in the morning of the event..
For those participating in the Four Man Team Time Trial competition, the time will be awarded to the third rider of that team crossing the finish line.
If desired, one (1) Follow Vehicle may be utilized for each of those teams participating in the Four Man Team Time Trial competition only. The Follow Vehicle must be registered with the Starters Table 30 minutes prior to the start of the race. A Follow Vehicle may not be utilized for anyone participating in the Individual Time Trial competition.
The Yellow Line Rule will be strictly enforced. Some sections of the course do not have a Yellow Line demarcation. Proceed on these sections as if one existed (i.e. stay right). If participating in the Team Time Trial, conduct pacelines in observance of any forward or behind traffic. Although not expected to be significant, the roads will be open to traffic.
Road Marshalls will be placed at all turns and in other areas as deemed appropriate. But please familiarize yourself with the course route prior to the race date.
Prizes and Awards will be presented in a podium presentation following the race to winners in each of the Team Time Trial and Individual Time Trial competitions.
Plan to bring family and friends to cheer you on and plan to stay afterward for Music, Hot Dogs and Drinks just after the Final Podium Presentation.

Note 1: At this point the road that you are on, Bluff Road, continues by going right and then becomes River Bluff. However, there is not a street sign at this section. There is a small island in the road, simply stay right. Do not take a left at this point as it takes you down to Jackson Hill and to the Mississippi River Boat Landing. You will ultimately see a street sign indicating you are on River Bluff and at some point, continuing on this road, it turns into Herring Hill.
Note 2: Again, there is not a street sign at this section. However, you are returning in the direction you came so take a left heading back toward the Shelby Forest Visitor Center and later the Shelby Forest General Store. You will see a small island in the road, On this return trip take a left to head back to the Finish area.
It is mandatory that if you plan to put together a Four Man Team to participate in the Team Time Trial Competition, you must communicate the names of your four team members via email to Larry Fogarty at FogartyL@methodisthealth.org prior to noon on Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Any registrant not included on a Team of Four will be started as a competitor in the Individual Time Trial competition.
If you have previously submitted your registration at www.cirquevelosmemphis.com by clicking on Register Now and you have already paid the one time race series fee of $40, no additional information or race fees are required, unless you will need a One Day License for this event ($10). If you have not participated in one of the two earlier events or have not paid a race series fee, the fee for this last event is $25. This can be paid the morning of the event at registration, but you will need to register in advance by going to www.cirquevelosmemphis.com and clicking on Register Now.
